Advent

The word Advent comes from a Latin term meaning “coming” or “arrival.” It marks a season of anticipation, preparation and hope in the long-promised Messiah. During the four weeks leading up to Christmas, we intentionally slow down to refocus our hearts on Christ, remember God’s faithfulness through Scripture, and build rhythms of hope, peace, joy, and love into our days. It’s also a time to teach our children the true meaning of Christmas and to prepare room in our lives to welcome Jesus.
