What is Discipleship?

Discipleship is the intentional process of learning, growing and living out one’s faith in Jesus Christ by following his teachings and example. It involves building a personal relationship with Christ, being transformed by his word and guiding others to do the same through mentorship, teaching, and modeling a Christ centered life.

FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP

FRAMEWORK

Our desire is to partner with parents in their pursuit of making disciples of Jesus Christ.  We want to help encourage, equip and empower parents to build a solid gospel centered foundation in their personal lives and in the lives of their children. Our hope is that together you may love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, and mind.  (Deut. 6:5)

We want to provide a dynamic selection of biblical resources that will grow over time and give families an opportunity to grow together spiritually. This framework serves as a guide to help families intentionally cultivate spiritual growth and discipleship in the home and turn every day moments into opportunities for spiritual growth.

    Intentional Discipleship

Discipleship might sound intimidating but it is already happening in your family whether you are aware of it or not. Our children naturally absorb what we prioritize and value most in our daily life and often follow our example, which is the essence of discipleship. Our goal is to help make discipleship an intentional and purposeful part of family life within our church community.

    • Individual Time

Personal alone time with God and reading the Bible will help reinforce the truth within an individual and solidify their beliefs, equipping them to better disciple and guide their family and faith.

    • Couple Time

Strengthening a couples relationship with Jesus and with each other creates a strong, spiritual foundation, which naturally translates into more effective and impactful discipleship of their children.

    • Family Time

Intentionally weave Jesus and His truths into the fabric of your day “as you go.” This is the creative part that will look different for each family.

    • Ohana Groups (The essence of the Church)

Our small groups are called Ohana Groups and they are crucial in family discipleship because they create a supportive, relational environment where families can grow spiritually together and encourage one another. Ohana groups provide a framework for families to grow in their faith, learn from one another, and live out discipleship in the context of a caring and safe environment.
